The delivery of a massive skip marks the point at which the real work on Darncombe starts. M and I spent the afternoon alternately stripping wallpaper and moving carpets and other junk into the skip. Getting organised will be the main challenge. We have already booked a team of electricians to attend to complete the first fit wiring and we will be working in parallel to ensure that we can get some of the spaces rapidly ready to enable us to function safely there. A plumber has given us an outline quote for a Combi boiler and initial works and we are in the process of pulling the times and details together. We have set up accounts with a builders merchant and an electrical suppliers so that workmen can order or pick up the stuff we need.
